jersey shore...
This weekend, I watched Jersey Shore on Mtv for the first time. I was kind of forced into this situation by my surroundings and figured I would proceed with getting my self through an episode. First of all, this show is very hard to watch. The people around me somehow were actual fans of the show and told me I didn't know what I was missing. The main characters essentially have the goal of acting as stuck up, belligerent, drunk, intolerable, loud and/or obnoxious as possible. I quickly began questioning my friends as to what we were doing watching this, and I eventually gathered the response that the entertainment is all about how crazy they are (to them at least). All of the characters had relocated their 'Real World' type cast in Italy to film, because their all Italians "revisiting the motherland". All of the girls went to a wine tour where they proceeded to act like obnoxious middle school girls. Their only intent was getting drunk and I felt bad for their tour guide. I hope he got paid some money to put up with the main character 'Snooky' falling asleep on the wine barrels as he was giving them history. The guys went to go visit on of the character's family, which he had never met. This seems like a good idea, and I suppose they didn't find it immoral to let the mtv cameras film them with the 'guidos'. Later Snookie sleeps with multiple people and the episode ends with her throwing wine bottles at people. I almost wish I had kept my streak of not seeing this show.
