I was watching the MTV VMAs and when the nominees for new artist of the year, I saw the name Tyler the Creator. I had never heard of him so I went on YouTube to watch the video he nominated for, Yonkers. The first time I watched this video I was like what the **** because it was kind of disturbing. We talked about creativity and being original in class, and I would say that Tyler the Creator is most definitely original. In this music video of his he has a unique sound of music and lyrics, but what is most disturbing is what is in the video. In the opening of the video he is just sitting and it seems that it is going to be a simple video, but soon after he is seen eating a cockroach and then vomiting. The video moves from being in focused to showing only silhouettes, so that the viewer doesn't see in graphic detail. The part of the video that really got to me was towards the end when Tyler ends up standing on the stool and then hanging himself. I was really confused at first because I really didn't listen to the lyrics, but after I watched/listened a coupld more times I realized that Tyler was seriously out there and just an original person. His popularity is split decision because there are the people who embrass the oddballs and then there are the people who don't like it when people act the was Tyler does.
