When I was younger, on Saturdays and Sundays, my mom and I would sit and watch SyFy movies (when it use to be called SciFy Channel still). Each movie we would watch, she would comment on how cheesy they were but that she loved those kind of movies. I didn't really enjoy them at first, but when it turned in to a routine every weekend to watch at least one SyFy movie, I began to love the genre of movies. I know that the quality of the filming and special effects is subpar, and that the acting is beyond terrible. With all of these negative aspects I still love these films because it is just enjoyable to watch a movie that you might get scared in or just enjoy because it is scientific fiction, where things unexplainable can happen. The SyFy channel is one of those channels that is a niche for certain people. They enjoy all of the programs and movies that are played on the channel because there is an art for creating those B-Movie films. I hope that the SyFy channel keeps supporting these lower class production companies, who keep repping out those classic scify movies.
