The Inside Story: Ferris Bueller's Day Off

I watched an insider show on the Biography channel on Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which was so interesting.  I love behind the scenes shows and footage on movies and this movie is one of my favorites, so I enjoyed every second of watching this Inside Story.  The movie, written and directed by 80s film superhero John Hughes, stars Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller, a fun loving high school student in desperate need of a day of fun.  The behind the scenes talks about the making of the film with interviews from most of the leading characters.  It was so interesting to see what went in to making this movie, and the different points of view.  It also made me realize how important editing can be in producing the desired outcome.  Apparently, Hughes was keen on filming a lot and cutting it down to a manageable amount was a challenge.  I loved hearing about the famous scene on the streets of Chicago during the parade where Ferris sings.  The construction worker dancing on the scaffolding was an actual person they caught on film just enjoying the music.  Hughes was amazing when it came to writing and directing the teen movies of the 1980s, and Ferris Bueller's Day off is no exception.
