I don't think anyone else has posted anything yet, and I just watched this music video for the first time in a while. It's by a band called Sigur Rós from Iceland and the song is called Hoppipolla. Upon listening to this song, you might be tempted to look up the lyrics. I must tell you before you do this that it is completely pointless because they sing in their own language, and leave the listener to interpret each song to their own liking. Romantic, right? Anyways, this is about creativity and film, not how odd but incredible this band is. I The video is basically a bunch of old geezers running around as if they are kids. This includes ding-dong-ditching, pretend sword fights, balloon fights, and loads of other shenanigans. I love how it is filmed so opposite of mainstream videos- even movies. The film itself resembles something from home cameras of the early 60's (maybe? maybe even earlier); sun flares and all. The scenery is beautiful and the set is constantly changing to keep up the movement of the geezers. In the (fake) sword fight, there are all kinds of over the shoulder shots and high shots. Also some close-ups. No extreme close-ups, though. Love the video, though. It's basically a big anti-enjoyyouryouthwhileyoucan, because you can enjoy old age just as beautifully! I hope everyone listens to this song.

Welcome!

Although I will sometimes post to this blog, with a newborn baby in the house I won't be seeing nearly as much time-based media as you all. Please use this blog to express your thoughts and opinions about a piece of time-based media (film, television, animation, on-line videos, etc.). You can also respond to other students' posts. Remember to have fun, but please be civil, respectful, and thoughtful in your comments.
